Welcome

Today A.M. – mostly in pictures

Another up early day, but that was good.  I drove the 20 minutes to Snowbasin but I stopped along the way to stare at the surroundings.  I don’t know the language for it (valleys, basins, whatever) but it is something to see.  All around are mountains. Got my season pass, too the gondola to the top and took the obligatory selfie. I was gassed pretty early. It’s been a minute since I skied, and while I’d like to think I’m still in shape from running, I’m not. My quads burned. Since I’m here for two months there was no sense breaking my leg on Day 1.

I grabbed coffee, enjoyed the DJ (not EDM, he played Nirvana and Beck), sat on the patio and had coffee. I made it one more run after that.  The day couldn’t have been nicer.  32 degrees, no wind and perfectly clear sunny sky.  Ideal.  Although, being early season, most of the mountain was closed. Still, it was more open than Chicago!

The ski tracks isn’t accurate because it missed my first run.  That added another 25 minutes to time spent on the slope (I paused while I had my coffee) and it tracked the longest run of the day.  Of course.[nextcode_gallery id_gallery=”2″]
