Welcome

Yesterday…

This year, because of Covid, my school went to a block schedule. As it happens, my A and B days aren’t equal. A is mostly a full day, but B I have barely anything. Yesterday was an A day so I wasn’t able to go skiing. Not a problem, work does come first.

I was able to easily teach my first two classes. The wifi here is stellar and since I have a dedicated workspace it’s nicer than setting up in one of my kids’ room at home. Next place I live will most definitely have an office (or, as soon as one of the kids leaves home for good).

Because the time change, my lunch is at 10:00 a.m. That’s not lunch. So instead I went for a short hike (didn’t record it).

I have a feeling I’ll be sitting on those boulders once I build up to longer hikes.

In the afternoon I taught another two classes. My work day ends at 2:20 local time so I ran an errand and then went for a longer hike.It wasn’t that long of a hike and I didn’t climb that much elevation, but it was enough for me. In the coming days/weeks (before I can’t hike without snow shoes or something) I’ll explore higher up. For now, that’s fine.

Here’s one of the best parts about this trip. Due to a busy schedule, kids, dog, what have you, I never get to do TWO things. I can read, but then I have to get back to family/work. I can play guitar, but then back at it. Being able to do multiple relaxing things is a luxury (although, tbh, as the kids get older I can do two things, but still not up to three!). But without the family around (I do miss them…blah blah blah), I can hike, then play guitar, then read, THEN binge watch and even THEN read some more. Not gonna lie, it was nice. I don’t want to do it forever, but it’s been a bit of the vacation I wanted so far.
