Although I didn’t plan on skiing today, when I woke up I saw they opened a new run today. I figured I’d go and if it was too crowded I wouldn’t stay long. I am so glad I went. The run that opened is now way in the lead for my favorite run. The only downside is that it ends at the base and that’s where the lift line if longest.
It wasn’t as crowded as yesterday, but it did get crowded so I left after my usual two hours. I’ll stay full days next weekend when my younger son is out here.
Two weeks isn’t necessary a tradition, but my new Sunday ritual seems to be ski, get buffalo wings, and watch football. I didn’t actually watch more than 10 minute of football with my lunch, but I am watching the Bears game now while eating the leftovers. That counts.
I also recorded two videos for work and read a ton. I also went for a hike. Birdsong Trail. It was mostly downhill actually and I wish I had done an out-and-back instead of looping back through streets.
This daybed has become my spot. It’s what’s missing at my Chicago home. A comfortable place to read bathed in light and overlooking mountains. I just have a couch overlooking a dimly lit living room. This type nook is a “must” in any retirement place we get.
Amazingly, it’s only 6:00 here so I still have a few hours left of weekend. Tomorrow I won’t have time to ski, but since it’s supposed to snow, I will definitely get back out there on Tuesday.
It’s all good. I’ll admit I am truly excited for my son to come out to hang out for a few days. It should be fun.
