In addition to skiing, I’m working on building back my running distance. I think I’d like to train for a marathon this fall, or at least get back to running some serious distance. Unfortunately, I haven’t kept up with running (more OTF and Peloton) so I’m back to the beginning. Literally. I started with my marathon book at the bottom.
Last week I ran 4 times for a total of 9+ miles. A few 20 minute runs and one 30 minute run. This week, I won’t do much more, probably around 10+ miles, but it’s at 5000 ft and hilly. It’s been HARD and I’m not looking forward to my 3.5 mile run tomorrow morning. I decided instead of going right out my door towards the mountains, I’m going left towards the valley floor. Sure that might mean the back of the out-and-back is uphill, but if I do it right the uphill will be my cool down. I’m going to run to and around downtown Ogden.
On the plus side, when I start running back in Chicago at 500 ft of elevation, I should be good to go!
