Welcome

Found my house…

This morning I ran downtown.  Along the way I saw some nice houses, but I stayed on my path.  This afternoon I decided to go for a short walk to talk a look at the houses.  I quickly realized that the brown street signs were for historical streets so I went up and down a few of them.  On one block, Eccles, every house had a placard out front about the history of the house.   On another block, Jackson, only a few did.  Some where based on the architetuce (a Frank Lloyd Wright prairie style) and some based the owner.

The house in the photo is the historic Browning House…not to be confused (as I was) with the historic Browning Mansion nearby.  Even so, the Browning house is pretty nice after recently being restored.  And, given the property values, it’s LESS than my house in Chicago is valued at.  Three times the six for less price?  Mountains all around and skiing 30 minutes away?  Sign me up.

I still have to go find the Browning Mansion (that’s the one owned by John Moses Browning of firearms fame).
