Welcome

Today’s Field Trip

The other night while surfing the web I saw something about the American Whiskey Trail.  Never heard of it so I googled it and found out that one stop on the trail is about 20 minutes from me in Utah.  Score!

Today a friend and I took a tour of the High West Distillery and then had a nice tasting.

Now, I’m sitting on my porch with a glass of the High West Bourbon (bought at the exit through the gift shop.  I don’t have a great palate so I don’t taste the notes of “candy corn, cornbread biscuit, nougat, and caramel apple, the distillery claims.  Tastes like bourbon to me.

Cool tour, with a cooler tour guide, and overall a nice place.  I will definitely go back for the Sunday brunch next time my wife is in town.  And now I have another “challenge” along with the Criterion movie watch; hit all the distilleries on the Whiskey Trail.
