Started last week where I left off and also didn’t post this on time. Let’s just go with I’ll post these things whenever.
#13 – Kenya – Machito (1957) Odd one. Afro-Cuban Jazz. Ok. But the ratings don’t seem to suggest it should be in the 1001 Musts.
#14 – Little Richard – Here’s Little Richard – Reviews – Album of The Year – Little Richard (1957). Baller!
#15 – Dance Mania – Tito Puente (1958) “Y’know, one day, Tito Puente will be dead, and you’ll say, “Oh, yes, I’ve been listening to his work for years.”
#16 – Lady in Satin – Billie Holiday (1958)
I couldn’t take more jazz. I jumped ahead and will come back around.
#364 – Ramones – Ramones (1976)
#365 – Zombie – Fela & Africa 70 (1977)
#366 – Legalize It – Peter Tosh (1976) – Reggae isn’t my thing. It mostly all sounds the same to me, but I suppose most people would say that about my thing: hardcore punk
#368 – Peter Frampton – Frampton Comes Alive! – Reviews – Album of The Year – Peter Frampton (1976). One of the biggest albums from my childhood. Oddly, I don’t know anyone who has ever listened to any other Frampton album. The other huge ones were Cheap Trick at Budokon and Meatloaf’s Bat Out of Hell. HUGE.
369 – Before and After Science – Brian Eno (1977). The last time I tried this list I remember liking this album and it holds true today. However, last time I must not have Google searched Eno enough because lord I had no idea he was in Roxy Music. Seems like a big overlook.
#375 – Hard Again – Muddy Waters (1977). Not a fan of jazz, but I am a big fan of the blues. Bonus trivia to help in your next Pub Trivia meet-up. Real name: McKinley Morganfield
